dear supporters of the 2nd World Women’s Conference of Grassroots Women 2016 in Nepal!

We as members of the newly elected Militant Women’s Council have have today met for the first time after our successful 11th Women’s Political Counsel.

Just now Monika Gaertner-Engel, European coordinator has given her report about the exciting 4th worldmeeting of coordinators in Kathmandu, which we found very inspiring for the 2nd World Women’s Conference.

With deep dismay and concern we have now heard about the very grave earthquake in Kathmandu and the surrounding country.

Our thought are with you and we are sending you a solidarity message with comes from the bottom of our hearts.

To all worldwomen in Europe!

We, Monika and Halinka are back from a very successful meeting in Nepal.

We are sending you all decisions and resolutions as well as some pictures enclosed, so that you may have an impression of the meeting yourselves.

The most important result is that the eight women’s organisations in Nepal work together very closely and have set course for the World Women’s Conference 2016 despite all the conflicts between their parties. In this spirit we decided upon the following resolutions (among others):

The 4th World Meeting of coordinators for the 2nd World Women’s Conference took place from the 10th till the 15th of March 2015 in Katmandu/Nepal. Together with the wonderful women of the eight women’s organizations (United Women’s Association) we make a call to all the women of the world:

Start NOW with the intensive preparation for the 2nd World Women’s Conference!

Decisions, Resolutions 4. European Conference (Engl., German, French, Span., Greek)

Decisions of 4th European Conference in Elefsina/Athens 31.01.15 wfk_athen108

We agree on the most important steps towards the World- Women’s-Conference

1 We use the three days of struggle and activities – March 8th, Mai 1st and November 25th and all activities in our country to make the World Women’s Conference publicly known as well as for mobilizing many participants and immediately start collecting donations.
2 We plan the elections of the five delegates, decide on the mode of election in our country and inform the world-coordinators about the delegates before1th December 2015.
3 We organize the inscription of many participants until 1st December 2015 and inform the world-coordinators about their number.
4 We write the country report about our country and send it to the world-coordinators in the English language until 8 weeks before the World Women’s Conference at latest (10th January 2016).
5 We cooperate with the young women for organizing the song contest.
6 We finance the participation of our delegations autonomously and try to support women from other continents with donations.
7 We deliberate for which part of the program (workshops, demonstration, choir …) in Nepal we take over special responsibility and inform the world-coordinators about it until 1st October 2015
8 We organize all interpreters, which the women from our country need in Nepal (apart from those of the general assembly) and win further interpreters for the communication in the preparation and for the general assembly.
9 We plan our contribution for the common cultural evening/event of Africa / Europe and coordinate this Europe-wide together with the African coordinators.
10 We mobilize brigades for the preparation work in Nepal starting four weeks ahead of the conference.

Weltfrauen unterstützen Anwältinnen ohne Grenzen:

Unterstützen wir Weltfrauen die Anwältinnen ohne Grenzen bei der Abstimmung zum Gustav-Heinemann-Bürgerpreis! anwältinnen ohne grenzen

Von unserer Freundin und Weltfrau Jasmina Prpic aus Freiburg haben wir erfahren, dass ihre Organisation „Anwältinnen ohne Grenzen“ für den  Gustav-Heinemann-Bürgerpreis 2015 nominiert ist. Die Abstimmung läuft bis zum 6. Mai!

Wir haben Jasmina 2014 als engagierte Kämpferin für Frauenrechte auf der Europakonferenz in Paris kennen gelernt. An der Europakonferenz in Athen 2015 konnte sie selbst nicht teilnehmen, hat aber einen eindrücklichen Länderbericht über die Lage der Frauen in ihrem Herkunftsland Bosnien geschickt.
