Dear Worldwomen in Europe,
We European Coordinators would like to cordially invite you to our 5th European Conference on the 6th of November 2016 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany
Dear women,
Congratulations again for our successful 2nd World Women’s Conference of grassroots women 2016. We owe our special compliments and thanks to the hosts, the women of the United Women’s Association in Nepal. They worked together excellently and under hard circumstances, the consequences of the earthquakes and the boycott by the Indian government for the success of the conference.
In our unanimously decided resolution we determined:
“Let us resolutely develop our structures for worldwide, continental and regional coordination and bring it to a higher level. Let us improve our organizational work!” Throughout Europe we women have pressing reasons to form stronger connections for a future worth living in.
Our European Conference will be conducted under the banner of this successful 2nd WWC and one focus will be its evaluation. We will have the possibility to directly bring our assessment and feedback into the worldwide meeting of Coordinators, which will take place right after our meeting in Gelsenkirchen as well.
We will also carry out the election or confirmation of two Coordinators and two deputies for the next period. As it was announced on the 2nd World Women’s Conference, Monika Gärtner-Engel (current Coordinator), Angélica Urrutia as well as Maria Hagberg (current deputies) will no longer stand for election.
Please start thinking and discussing about whom you could make available for this wonderful, interesting and exciting task.
The decision so far says that there is a maximum of three delegates from each country. Each participating country has the same number of votes, namely three, no matter how many delegates will be actually present.
You are also cordially invited to take part in our national women’s assembly Germany taking place on the 5th of November and to join the fabulous celebration of the women’s league Courage’s 25th anniversary on the 6th November. In addition there is the possibility to take part in the worldwide meeting of Coordinators from 7th-9th November as a guest, including the small visitors’ program at the end.
The participation fee for the European Conference is 20€. Travel expenses have to be covered by the respective countries the participants come from. If there are any problems, please let us know.
Concerning the preparations we have the following requests:
1.) Please register as soon as possible! Let us know all the dates for possible necessary visa applications and tell us if you need support.
2.) Please also send us your opinion concerning the suggested agenda as soon as possible.
