I am Marie-Paula, the current 1st African coordinator of the World women*s Conference of Grassroots Women.
On November 04, 2024, the meeting of the world coordinators of grassroots women was held in Kassel, Germany. With a note of satisfaction, I’m going to give you my impressions of our November 4th meeting in Kassel.
Of course, in all work there is always a setback, but I think that the objectives set were well achieved in relation to the expected results, and I congratulate the organizing committee in particular. Were the debates conducted democratically? My immediate answer is yes. I would add that everyone’s opinion was respected and that moderation was shared between all the coordinators present.
The first was that there should be at least one coordinator representing each continent.
Due to lack of time, and in order to ensure and better plan the financial arrangements, the formation of the organizing committee and discussions on finances will take place at a later date, thanks to further exchanges.Thus, the fundamental decisions for the success of the next theoretical seminar in Nepal from November 27 to 30, 2025 were taken. The coordinators voted freely and democratically on each decision taken, and each had to describe the situation on her continent and answer the questions needed to clarify it. Resolutions taken during and after the meeting were also adopted and voted on unanimously.
Satisfaction was also evident on the faces of the guests who followed the meeting in observer mode.
In short, the 2024 World Coordinators’ meeting was a success: punctuality, cohesion, active participation with open and attentive listening, not to mention the relevance of the decisions, are to be commended. Once again, the women of the world proved their determination and their understanding that unity is strength.
